Matt’s Burning Man Projects have been massive collaborative en devours with a huge number of people from around the world helping and contributing their creative brilliance to the project. As The Pier Group, Matt has been one of many artistic minds working together to build something greater than any individual could accomplish. The Pier Group is a diverse community of artists, engineers and free thinkers.

Our Team has been thoroughly tested in one of the harshest environments in the world, the Black Rock Desert, and time and time again we make enormous public works as volunteer projects. Our skills have grown over 10 years, and they translate directly into the skills needed to build just about anything we can think up in any kind of environment, from The Space Whale in downtown Reno, to 20ft. bamboo hands in the Australian Bush.

Our projects start with an idea and we go from there. We are not limited by materials, form or medium. If the idea requires new skills we will master them, if we need new techniques we will invent them. Our work flow continues to be a hybrid of computer design, traditional sculpture and architecture. From Clay to Cad each part of the process is a tool to master, a chance to learn and to share skills with a community.
